Tim was born and raised in a loving Christian home in Abbotsford, B.C. Canada. After storming the castle, slaying the dragon and rescuing his bride, Tina, they began their journey together in the fall of 1996. He graduated with a B.A. in Leadership and Ministry from Alberta Bible College with studies at Columbia Bible College and ministry experience with a short-term mission agency, Venture Teams International (VTI) contributing to the degree. Before coming to WayPoint in 2001, Tim and Tina served with VTI in the discipling and training of new team members for a little over 3 years in Calgary, AB. Tim and Tina are enjoying life here on the Key Peninsula with their 2 children. Tim’s favorite part of serving as the pastor at WayPoint Church is seeing people continue to make steps closer to Jesus. Having a staff that laughs at his jokes is pretty good too. Tim also writes occasional ponderings on his blog -3rd Timothy. To read his blog CLICK HERE.
ASSOCIATE PASTOR RORY ADAMS
Born in California, Rory moved six times before settling into the Key Peninsula area at age 11. From a young age his parents told him about Jesus but it wasn’t until he was 16 that Rory truly began to follow Jesus. After graduating from Peninsula High School, Rory moved to Bellingham to study math at Western Washington University with the intention of becoming a math teacher. However, God had other plans. After graduating in 2003 Rory returned to the KP to become the youth pastor of his home church–WayPoint. In 2008 Rory became WayPoint’s Associate Pastor and in 2014 Rory completed his Master’s in Theological Studies at Faith Seminary. Rory and his wife, Jen, have three daughters and one son. Rory loves WayPoint because it is a great place to connect with God and people who love and need Him.
Our church is not a place for spectators. It is a place for team members. Whether you are a five-year old child, a ninety-five year old grandmother, a busy mom, or a businessman with big responsibilities, we want you to be a part of our vibrant church community. Here is how you can learn, serve, and grow at WayPoint.
Life’s an adventure…let’s share in the journey together!
At WayPoint Church we want to share more than just a pew; we want to share life! A lot happens between Sundays and we believe a good way to stay connected is through small groups that meet in homes throughout the week. At WayPoint we call these groups Home Flocks.
“Love your neighbor as yourself” (Matthew 22:39). Jesus told his followers that this command is right up there with loving God. In fact, loving our neighbors is one way we show our love for God.
At WayPoint Church we want to love our community–the Key Peninsula–through service. We want to serve our community in big ways and small. Whether it’s a planned event like Vacation Bible School our Candy Carnival in October or just being the type of neighbors who look out for others, we want to follow Jesus’ example of servanthood.
MEDIA & TECHNOLOGY
Using media to spread the gospel is a growing area of ministry in our church. We try to use these tools as best as possible for kingdom purposes. Each Sunday a team is needed to provide quality sound and media for our services. All of our weekly sermons are uploaded to our website. Listen HERE.
Women’s groups give the ladies in our church family special times of interaction. Our women’s groups, located in several locations throughout our community, are times of Bible study, prayer (and, of course, food). These groups provide a refreshing discipleship opportunity for the women in the church.
We have partnered with a number of organizations we have found to be faithful to the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20).
Members of our community and church join in prayer in our sanctuary every Monday morning between the hours of 5:30- and 8:00am. Find out more at KeyPenPrayer.org
